Therapy

One thing we decided to do this year was to make sure we read scriptures together as a family. We've always gone back and forth on reading.. we'll have really good moments of reading, then falling off the wagon and taking breaks from it. Well I'm proud to say we have been pretty good at faithfully reading every night since new years.
I am here to testify the power of reading together as a family and how it truly does help your family grow stronger together.

We also started family therapy, and as I do think it too has helped our family, I still think the stronger force is reading our scriptures together.

I used to often think of myself as a failure in my motherly duties. And yes, I am not perfect so I really did struggle at times.  The stress of a blended family and trying to support such different back grounds was a true challenge for me to balance. And to be honest, I did get really depressed for a good time frame.

I still support fostering and heck I still want to be a part of fostering. But boy have my opinions changed over the years. I do think it takes special family dynamics and would suggest people do serious research before diving into it. BUT on the other hand, I am extremely grateful for who have become over the years. I have learned so much about myself, my weaknesses, my strengths and have even better myself in some areas.  I guess I'll say I've grown up a lot!

Tonight I renewed my temple recommend and one thing my bishop said to me has stuck in my head all night. He said, "Just be the example"  I know, such simple words. But he's so right. And I so needed to hear it.  I was struggling attending church (But have been doing much better lately) And I've come to accept the truth to my example of attending church will be a huge part in my children's faith with the church as well.  I dont know if the reason of him saying that had anything to do with me attending church or not but that is what I feel I needed to remember for my example. At least one of my example.. lol.

Well it is rather late and I have early mom duties.. so I will pry myself off the computer and have my head comfortably meet my pillow.

Goodnight world =)
